Member InstitutesThe Real Estate Institute of Australia (REIA) has eight members, comprised of the State and Territory Institutes Real Estate Institutes (REIs), through which about 80 per cent of real estate firms and licensed agents are collectively represented. REIs are the States peak professional associations for the real estate industry, and exist to support member real estate agents with information, products and resources that complement their business practices, which in turn ensure professional service for the public. A key requirement of REI membership is acceptance of a strict Code of Conduct and Rules of Practice. Acceptance of these professional standards sets REI members apart from other real estate agents. REIs actively work to promote a professional, ethical and responsible approach to real estate business. REIs also support the community by providing relevant industry information relating to the buying and selling of property. Any questions about REI membership should be directed to the Institute in the relevant State or Territory.
