Real estate complaints fall significantly during 2005-06

During 2005-06, the Australian Consumer and Competition Commission (ACCC) received 42,668 complaints of which only 1.8% (748) were made against real estate agents. This was a 16% fall in the number of complaints made against real estate agents compared with the 2004-05 period. Real estate agents ranked 10th in the industries about which complaints were made to the ACCC. The REIA estimates that just 0.038% (or one in every 2,632) of real estate agent assisted property transactions (sales and property management) resulted in a complaint being made to the ACCC.
